Beneath The Bright Shimmering Stars

Image

A ghost.
A whispering, whining ghost,
Who sails through the nighttime forest,
Beneath the shimmering, beneath the shimmering,
Beneath the bright shimmering stars.

A pumpkin!
A big and orange pumpkin,
Who scares the ghost behind a tree
Beneath the shimmering, beneath the shimmering,
Beneath the bright shimmering stars.

A bat!
A floppy and ghoulish bat,
Who lands on the pumpkin
Who scares the ghost
Who sails through the nighttime forest,
Beneath the shimmering, beneath the shimmering,
Beneath the bright shimmering stars.

A skeleton.
A clinking and jangling skeleton,
Who grabs the bat
Who landed on the pumpkin
Who scared the ghost
Who sailed through the nighttime forest,
Beneath the shimmering, beneath the shimmering,
Beneath the bright shimmering stars.

A tree!
A large and gnarled tree,
Who smacks the skeleton
Who grabbed the bat
Who landed on the pumpkin
Who scared the ghost
Who sailed through the nighttime forest,
Beneath the shimmering, beneath the shimmering,
Beneath the bright shimmering stars.

A woodsman.
A dense and silly woodsman,
Who cuts down the tree
That smacked the skeleton
Who grabbed the bat
Who landed on the pumpkin
Who scared the ghost
Who sailed through the nighttime forest,
Beneath the shimmering, beneath the shimmering,
Beneath the bright shimmering stars.

A cat!
A sleek and black cat,
Who jumps on the woodsman
Who cut down the tree
That smacked the skeleton
Who grabbed the bat
Who landed on the pumpkin
Who scared the ghost
Who sailed through the nighttime forest,
Beneath the shimmering, beneath the shimmering,
Beneath the bright shimmering stars.

An owl!
A mighty brown owl,
Who alarms the cat
Who jumped on the woodsman
Who cut down the tree
That smacked the skeleton
Who grabbed the bat
Who landed on the pumpkin
Who scared the ghost
Who sailed through the nighttime forest,
Beneath the shimmering, beneath the shimmering,
Beneath the bright shimmering stars.

The ghost!
The whispering, whining ghost,
Startles the owl
Who alarmed the cat
Who jumped on the woodsman
Who cut down the tree
That smacked the skeleton
Who grabbed the bat

Who landed on the pumpkin.
And that whispering, whining ghost says,
“Go away! Stop bothering me!”
So all turn and scatter,
Beneath the shimmering, beneath the shimmering,
Beneath the bright shimmering stars.
